The Comic-Con 2026 badge sale you’ve been waiting for is coming. Explore our key details and simple tips to help make your Open Registration experience stress free. This is just the beginning of a series of guides to get you ready for the big day.

SAVE THE DATE!

Comic-Con 2026 Open Registration is set for November 15, 2025! Be ready to enter the virtual waiting room before the badge sale begins at 9:00 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST). The waiting room opens at 7:30 AM PST, so you have over an hour to arrive.

Stay updated through our official channels: Comic-Con Member ID emails, Facebook, Instagram, X, and Toucan – the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon.

WHAT

do I need for Open Registration?

To join Open Registration on November 15, you’ll need a valid Comic-Con Member ID. New participants should create an account in advance, and returning members should check that their details are up to date, including name, password, email, membership type, and payment information. Figure out your preferred days in advance, and have an alternate plan prepared if any badges sell out before you check out. If your payment is not pre-saved in your account, you will need your credit or debit card ready at checkout.

If you are buying badges for others, you must have their Member ID and last name exactly as shown in their account. Any special characters or suffixes must be included for the purchase to be successful.

Badge Prices

What do they cost?

BADGE TYPEADULTJUNIOR*U.S. MILITARY/SENIOR*
Preview Night$64.00$32.00$32.00
Thursday$85.00$43.00$43.00
Friday$85.00$43.00$43.00
Saturday$85.00$43.00$43.00
Sunday$64.00$32.00$32.00
All purchases are subject to a $15 handling fee per member.

* Children (12 and under) are free with a paying adult. Juniors (ages 13 -17) pay the reduced junior prices. Active-duty military with ID and seniors (ages 60 years and older) pay the reduced U.S. Military/Senior price. The Military/Senior pricing does not extend to military veterans and dependents. Kindly ensure that your Membership Type is set correctly to enable access to the reduced Junior, Senior, or Military rates for payment.

Children who were 12 or younger on July 31, 2025, may attend Comic-Con 2026 for free with a paying adult, while those who were 13 by July 31, 2026 must have their own Comic-Con Member ID to purchase a badge.

WHO

is eligible?

Comic-Con 2026 Open Registration is open to the general public! Anyone with a valid and confirmed Member ID can participate.

To participate in Open Registration, please make sure ahead of time that you know your password and can log in to your Member ID account, or create your Member ID today if you don’t have one!

Anyone you wish to purchase badges for must also meet the same eligibility requirements.

WHO

is NOT eligible?

The following member types are not eligible for Open Registration and will have separate registration dates:

  • Complimentary pass recipients
  • Professionals
  • Guests of professionals
  • Program participants
  • Exhibitors
  • Exhibitor-purchased attendees
  • Children (age 12 and under)
  • Retailers
  • Volunteers
  • Press
  • Staff

Where

is Open Registration?

Open Registration will be held in the Member ID Portal. The Queue-it virtual waiting room will open 1.5 hours before the sale. At 9:00 AM PST, every eligible participant in the waiting room will be placed in a randomized queue. If selected, you will have 15 minutes to complete your badge purchase.

Make sure you know your account password well before the sale. You will need it to log in if you are moved into a registration session.

Friends-

Can I buy for them?

Yes! You can purchase badges for up to three people, including yourself. However, everyone you are purchasing for must also have a Member ID account. You’ll need their Member ID and last name as it appears on their Member ID accounts (including special characters, suffixes, and punctuation, if applicable).

Keep an eye on our Toucan blog in the following week for information on how to purchase for friends or family.

Child Badges-

How do they work?

Children ages 12 and under are free with a paid adult! We’re proud to offer one of the most generous child badge policies in the industry. So bring your kiddos and start making memories at our next Comic-Con. Click here for more information on our Child Badge Policy.

Juniors (ages 13-17) must have their own unique Member ID account, separate from their guardian or parent, to participate in Open Registration or have a badge purchased for them during the sale.

If they were at least 13 years old on July 31, 2025, they must have their own Comic-Con Member ID created in order to have the chance to purchase a badge for Comic-Con 2026.

If your child was age 12 or under on July 31, 2025, they do not need a purchased badge for Comic-Con 2026. They may attend as a child for free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

Am I Guaranteed

a badge?

Participating in Open Registration does not guarantee a badge. Demand is higher than the number of available badges, and entry to the waiting room at any time does not ensure a registration session. If you are selected, the process will go more smoothly if you review the Open Registration details in advance and have your information ready on the day of the sale.

How can I stay up-to-date on new information?

Stay connected with us across all the major social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X , and Toucan – the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon. We’ll be serving up vital information all the way up to the sale.

What is the process for accessing the virtual waiting room?

The virtual waiting room will open at 7:30 AM PDT on Saturday, October 4. Visit our Member ID Portal between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM PDT to automatically enter the waiting room without any additional steps needed. If you’re randomly selected for a registration session during the badge sale, you will then be prompted to log in.

If you’re already logged in to your Member ID before the waiting room opens, simply click on “Returning Registration” located in the top menu bar after 7:30 AM PDT to join.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you enter the virtual waiting room prior to 9:00 AM PDT to be placed in a randomized queue when the sale begins. If you enter the virtual waiting room for the first time after 9:00 AM PDT, you will be placed at the back of the line.

Is access to my Member ID account possible while I’m in the waiting room?

No, once you enter the waiting room, you won’t have the ability to navigate through your account details. If you’re buying on behalf of others, make sure to gather their Member ID and last name before the day of the sale (special characters included, like a period, comma, tilde, etc.). If they’re unsure whether their Member ID has a special character or their account’s last name includes a suffix, it’s crucial to check ahead of time as they won’t have access to their Account Dashboard for confirmation.

Why is my friend in the waiting room for Returning Registration even though they’re not eligible?

The waiting room for Returning Registration serves as a traffic management system during the sale period. It’s designed to accommodate everyone who accesses our Member ID Portal around that time. While unqualified individuals might find themselves in the waiting room, only those who qualify for Returning Registration will be included in the randomized queue for badge sales starting at 9:00 AM. In the event of reduced traffic, ineligible members in the waiting room will be redirected back to their Account Dashboard.

How will I be notified when badges for a specific day are no longer purchasable?

If you’re selected for a registration session, only the days still available will be shown. Status updates will be regularly posted in the waiting room, keeping you informed about diminishing badge availability. However, there’s a slight chance that even if you’re chosen for a registration session close to the end of the sale, there might not be any badges left to purchase once you’re moved to a registration session. Your badge is only secured once payment is completed. Keep in mind that daily badges may sell out while they are still in your cart, so it’s a good idea to finalize your purchase as soon as you’re ready. Once all badges are sold out, the waiting room will be closed for the current sale.

Not all eligible attendees will be able to purchase a badge during Returning Registration. There are far more eligible attendees than available badges. Entry to the waiting room does not guarantee you a badge or registration session. We encourage you to bookmark Toucan – the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon, and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and X for more up-to-date information regarding Returning Registration.

Returning Registration 2026: A Prep Guide to Keep You Ahead

Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration is on the horizon, and this prep guide is packed with tips to get you ready for the big day.

J. Cortes © 2023 SDCC

Returning Registration for Comic-Con 2026 arrives on October 4, and a little prep now can save you stress later. From waiting room basics to registration day know-how, we have you covered. Take a look at our checklist below and don’t forget to check out our Returning Registration page for the full scoop.

Password Check

If you haven’t logged in to your Comic-Con Member ID account in a while, please make sure you can access your account well ahead of the badge sale. If you’re eligible for Returning Registration, you will need to log in if you’re randomly selected for a registration session. Don’t let a forgotten password keep you from purchasing badges!

email check

If you purchase badges during Returning Registration, an order acknowledgement email will be sent to the email address linked to your Member ID account. Log in to your Member ID account before October 4 and review the upper left corner under your name. If your email is outdated, you can update it in the “My Account Information” section.

Credit Card Information

For visual guidance in saving your card information, follow the steps below:

To make sure that your checkout process is effortless, we recommend you go into your Member ID account before October 4 and save your credit card information ahead of the sale. If you participate in Returning Registration and are selected for a registration session, you will have 15 minutes total to complete your badge purchase. Saving your credit card information ahead of time can save you valuable time.

During checkout, you’ll be able to select a pre-saved payment method or enter a new credit card, and it will be used to purchase all badges included in your order. If someone purchases a badge for you, the buyer’s selected payment method will be used.

Waiting Room Expectations

On October 4, the virtual waiting room opens at 7:30 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). To participate in the badge sale, arrive at the Member ID Portal between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM PDT to enter the waiting room—no additional steps required.

If you’re already logged in before the waiting room opens, click “Returning Registration” in the top menu bar after 7:30 AM PDT. Entry does not guarantee a session, and not all members will be selected.

The badge sale will begin at 9:00 AM PDT. At that time, everyone in the waiting room will be sorted into a randomized queue. If you’re moved into a registration session, you’ll be prompted to log in to your Member ID account. Your Member ID verifies eligibility. If it is not eligible for Returning Registration, you will not be able to access the badge sale.

Certified Browsers

The Queue-it waiting room and badge registration system have undergone testing across a range of web browsers.

For optimal performance, please ensure that your browser is updated to the latest version by October 4.

The following browsers have been extensively tested and are recommended for the best results:

  • Firefox: Latest Version
  • Google Chrome: Latest Version
  • Safari: Latest Version
  • Microsoft Edge: Latest Version

Please note that if you choose to use a browser that is not included in the list above, we cannot guarantee the same level of performance and reliability.

Electronic Devices

We highly recommend using a laptop or desktop computer for badge registration. The registration system is not optimized for use on cell phones, iPads, or tablets, and Comic-Con cannot guarantee the expected behavior of the registration system when accessed via a mobile device.

JavaScript and Cookies

In the majority of contemporary web browsers, these features are typically enabled by default in your configuration. However, as a precaution, we strongly recommend verifying that they are indeed enabled.

Power-Saving Settings

To ensure your computer remains active during your stay in the waiting room or registration process, please adjust your computer’s settings to prevent the screen from entering sleep mode prematurely. In the event that you are unexpectedly removed from the waiting room due to your computer going idle, don’t worry. Return to the Member ID Portal using the same browser as you were before to be placed back into the same position in the queue.

connection risks: vpns and refreshing

Resist the urge to refresh your browser! The Queue-it waiting room is designed to automatically refresh every 30 seconds. Manually refreshing your browser while in the waiting room could lead to technical issues that are out of our control. We also advise against using a VPN or privacy relay. These tools can interfere with your connection and may prevent you from accessing the waiting room successfully.

Fair Play Reminder

Please do not attempt to cheat the system. Sharing waiting room information or URLs may lead to removal from the registration queue and cancellation of associated transactions. Dishonest practices, whether during registration or resale, can result in cancellation of ALL badges in the order, including yours.

Voluntary Information:

Update Birth Year

While not mandatory, sharing your birth year under “My Account Information” could help us enhance your Comic-Con experience. As a nonprofit organization, this valuable input often leads to grants, exciting panel guests, new opportunities, and an overall improved event tailored to our attendees.

Stay on top of all exciting announcements by following us on Instagram, Facebook, X, and Toucan – the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon.

Purchasing for Others: A Returning Registration How-To

Excited to return to Comic-Con 2026 with your favorite people? Keep reading to maximize your chances of getting their badges during Returning Registration.

E. Olaes © 2024 SDCC

If you attended Comic-Con 2025 with a paid attendee badge, our first badge sale for Comic-Con 2026 is dedicated to you. Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration is a special opportunity to join us again, and it’s even better when your friends are right there with you. Wondering if you can buy badges for them? The answer is yes—if they’re eligible.

Ready Your Squad

How Many Can You Buy For?

Eligible participants can purchase badges for up to three (3) eligible people total during the badge sale, and that includes yourself. If you’ll be buying badges for yourself, you can buy for two other eligible members if you’re granted a registration session.

Who’s Eligible?

Anyone you are purchasing for MUST also be eligible to participate in Returning Registration, which means they must also have attended Comic-Con 2025 with a paid attendee badge. You will not be able to purchase badges for someone else if their account is not eligible for this badge sale.

What You’ll Need

First, have them verify their account is eligible. Next, you will need their Comic-Con Member ID and last name exactly* as it appears on their account (special characters and punctuation included). Then, you’ll need to know the day(s) they would like to attend.

*PRO TIP: If you are purchasing badges for others, have them log in to their Member ID account ahead of the sale and send you a screenshot of their Member ID and last name so you don’t run into any issues.

Making Badge Selections

Below the instructions on the registration page, you’ll see two tabs: “Registrants” tab and a “Register Another Member ID.” Which tab you use depends on who you’re purchasing for. If you want to attend Comic-Con 2026, review the “Pick Your Badges” steps below. We recommend adding your badges to the cart first before making any other selections.

Pick Your Badges

  1. Stay on the “Registrants” tab. If you’re logged in to your own account, your account information will be auto-populated here. Under “Registration Options,” select each day you’d like to attend from the available inventory and then press “Add to Cart.”
  2. From the pop-up that confirms your badge has been added to the cart, select “Register Another Member” to purchase badges for others. Do not proceed to checkout until everyone’s badges have been added to the cart.

Pick Badges For Others

  1. Click the “Register Another Member ID” tab. Enter the Member ID and last name of a friend you wish to buy badges for, and press “Search.” If the Member ID and last name combo locates a match, their account name will show up in a green box below the “Search” button.
  2. Under “Registration Options,” select each day they’d like to attend from the available inventory and then press “Add to Cart.”
  3. From the pop-up that confirms their badge has been added to the cart, select “Register Another Member” to purchase badges for another eligible member. Do not proceed to checkout until everyone’s badges have been added to the cart.

Badge Inventory

If someone selects all available badges for you during their registration session, and then you enter into your own registration session, you can no longer select badges for yourself since it has already been done so by a friend. You can, however, purchase badges for up to three other eligible members if inventory is available.

Use your 15-minute session wisely, because inventory can sell out while you have badges in your cart. Your badge selections are not secured until you successfully process your order.

Want more information? Check out our detailed Returning Registration instructions HERE.

Adding and Removing Days During The Sale

After you’ve added badges for someone to your cart, you’ll be able to modify their badge selections directly in the cart.

After all selections have been made for you and/or your friends, head to checkout and into the payment portion of the process where your credit card and billing information will be needed.

If you want to REMOVE badge days, click the red “X” next to the badge in your cart.

If you want to ADD badge days, click the “View Details / Manage Add-ons” button below …

the registrant’s name in your cart. You’ll be able to check the box next to the badges that still have inventory available. Then, click “Save.”

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • REMEMBER: Badges cannot be transferred. Do not purchase a badge for someone under your own Member ID. It cannot be transferred to another account after the sale.
  • If you’re logged in, do not search for your Member ID and last name on the “Register Another Member ID” tab. Your account is already identified on the “Registrants” tab.
  • Do not forget to verify your friends’ details before the day of the sale. If they have special characters, spaces, and/or punctuation in their Member ID or last name, it must be included for the system to locate their account.

What to Expect After Your Purchase

Watch your inbox for a few days after placing your order. You’ll receive emails confirming your order and payment status.

Order Acknowledgement Emails

As soon as your purchase is complete, each badge holder will get an order acknowledgment email confirming their badges. Keep an eye on your inbox (and your spam folder!) to make sure you receive this important confirmation. It includes information on badge shipping, badge pick-up, and refunds.

If you had a badge purchased for you, you’re not in the clear just yet! If there are any issues with the payment, the buyer will be the one notified. Make sure they let you know once their payment is processed successfully.

Badge Confirmation Emails

Once we’re closer to the event, we’ll send out badge confirmation emails to all attendees with a unique barcode. Bring your badge confirmation with you if you don’t receive your badge in the mail this summer. You can resend a copy of your badge confirmation from the “My Orders” section in your Member ID account at that time.

Payment Processing

Only one form of payment can be submitted with your order. If you’re purchasing for others, make sure to work out payment details ahead of time! Comic-Con can not intervene if you purchase a badge for someone and they don’t pay you back.

When you check out, the total amount of your purchase will be marked as “Due Later” and your payment will be processed within 72 hours. We will begin processing credit cards and an email notification will be sent to the buyer if the payment went through successfully or if it was declined.

If the payment submitted for your group’s badge order is declined, the buyer will receive an email notification with an opportunity to submit a different method of payment for the entire order. We’ll attempt to charge your original method of payment once per day for up to 30 days. If payment is not successfully processed within that time, your badge—and any other badges in your order—may be at risk of being canceled.

Children

Children ages 12 and under can attend Comic-Con for free with a paying adult and cannot be registered in advance. If you successfully purchase a Comic-Con 2026 badge, you will be able to pick up a child badge on-site at the event. To determine if your child qualifies for a child’s badge or is now considered a junior who needs their own account to participate in badge sales, please head to our Child Badge Policy page to learn more.

Not all eligible attendees will be able to purchase a badge during Returning Registration. There are far more eligible attendees than available badges. Entry to the waiting room does not guarantee you a badge or registration session. We encourage you to bookmark Toucan – the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and X for more up-to-date information regarding Returning Registration.

The Essentials for Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration

The fundamentals on Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration are here, including important dates, eligibility rules, and answers to frequently asked questions.

when

is Returning Registration?

Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration has been set for October 4, 2025! The waiting room opens around 7:30 AM PDT, and the badge sale begins at 9:00 AM PDT.

Keep an eye on our official channels for helpful information leading up to the badge sale: Comic-Con Member ID emails, Facebook, Instagram, X, and Toucan – the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon.

WHAT

is Returning Registration?

Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration is the first of two attendee badge sales. It’s exclusively for those who attended Comic-Con 2025 with a paid attendee badge. The sale uses a virtual waiting room, where a randomization process takes place as the badge sale begins. Individuals will be moved into a 15-minute registration session in random order to purchase badges from the available inventory, until all are sold.

(Please read the “Who is Eligible?” question below.)

WHO

is eligible?

Returning Registration is open to all Comic-Con 2025 paid attendees*. To verify your Returning Registration eligibility:

  1. Log in to your Comic-Con Member ID account
  2. Go to your Account Dashboard.
  3. Look for “Eligibility: ✔ Comic-Con 2026 Returning Registration” under your name, Member ID, and email.

*This includes children who accompanied them with a child badge and have successfully completed the child-to-junior validation process for Comic-Con 2026.

Who is NOT Eligible?

The following member types are not eligible for Returning Registration and will have separate registration dates:

  • Program participants
  • Exhibitors
  • Exhibitor-purchased attendees
  • Retailers
  • Volunteers
  • Staff

WHERE

is Returning Registration?

Returning Registration takes place in our Member ID Portal where the Queue-it virtual waiting room will open over an hour before the sale begins at 9:00 AM PDT. If you get the opportunity to purchase badges, you’ll be prompted to log in to your Member ID account to begin your registration session. Hosted by Configio, we’ve worked hard on an improved registration experience for all of our prospective attendees.

Can I Buy Badges for Friends?

Yes! You can purchase badges for up to three people, including or excluding yourself. Everyone you are purchasing for must also be eligible to participate in Returning Registration. You’ll need their Member ID and last name as it appears on their Member ID accounts (including all special characters and punctuation, if applicable).

Check our Toucan blog next week for a special post on badge buying for friends or family.

(Please read the eligibility questions above to determine your friends’ eligibility and encourage them to check their Member ID accounts.)

How do Child Badges Work?

Children (age 12 and under) are free with a paying adult! You may register up to two (2) children per paid adult attendee on-site. We’re proud to offer one of the most generous child badge policies in the industry. So, bring your kiddos and start making memories at our next Comic-Con! Click here for all information on our Child Badge Policy.

To accommodate the transition from child (age 12 and under) to junior (age 13-17), we have set a static date to determine who is considered a child for Comic-Con 2026.

  • If they were at least 13 years old on July 31, 2025, they must have their own Comic-Con Member ID created in order to have the chance to purchase a badge for Comic-Con 2026.
  • If your child was age 12 or under on July 31, 2025, they do not need a purchased badge for Comic-Con 2026. They may attend as a child for free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

Am I Guaranteed a Badge?

Participating in Returning Registration does not guarantee you a badge, regardless of when you enter the waiting room. Due to high demand, there are more eligible attendees than available badges.

Can I Participate in Open Registration?

If you have a valid and confirmed Member ID, then yes, you are eligible to participate in Comic-Con 2026 Open Registration. Your participation in Returning Registration will not impact your eligibility for Open Registration.

In true superhero spirit, the P.O.W.E.R. (Previously Offered Wristbands: Extra Redemption) Drawing gives attendees one last shot at scoring an Exclusive Signing Portal wristband!

Missed out on an Exclusive Signing that was in the Comic-Con® 2025 Exclusives Portal?

Sixty (60) minutes before the start of an ES Portal signing, a special drawing will be held in the Autograph Area for any unclaimed wristbands, if available. This is your chance to swoop in and claim a spot that was previously awarded but not redeemed.

The Autograph Area online schedule will list the P.O.W.E.R. Drawing lineup time and location, and drawing time for each ES Portal signing. If there are no unclaimed wristbands, there will be no drawing.

The drawing will follow the Autograph Area Line Drawing procedure, so be sure you’re familiar with how it works.

Just like any good origin story, this might be your unexpected opportunity to become a part of something epic.

Good Luck!
